My research interests develop around two important topics: the SHARE - 50+ in Europe project and the multilevel
modelling.
The SHARE project presents an innovative and, in many ways, unique survey for studying ageing in Europe.
It is a longitudinal survey that, for the first time, analyses at once many items like the physical, mental and cognitive status,
the family and the social relationships, the occupation, pensions and financial status of 50+ in several European countries.
Multilevel modelling is an useful and powerful statistical tool for analysing data characterized by a hierarchical structure
(for instance, students nested in schools, employees nested in firms, patients nested in hospitals, etc.). Because of their flexibility,
since the Eighties such models have found an increasing application in the analysis of medical, social and (then) economic data.
